Over 100 Sharks in a Shoreline Feeding Frenzy.
In October 2014, a group of fishermen at the Cape Lookout National Seashore in North Carolina spotted a feeding frenzy of over 100 sharks in the shallow surf, joined by seagulls and pelicans, that lasted over 5 minutes. Sharks were literally coming all the way out of the water and onto the beach in their rush to consume the fish. This video illustrates quite clearly why sharks sometimes become stranded on the beach and require rescuing, as in the case of the stranded Cape Cod shark that was kept alive with buckets of water by beachgoers until the local fish and game department could tow the stranded shark out to sea and release it.
This incredible footage was taken by Donnie Griggs, one of the fishermen.
