The First Biofluorescent Reptile to Ever Be Discovered.
This is such extraordinary news. Scientists have long known that corals, jellyfish and certain fish can be biofluorescent (biofluorescent organisms absorb light, transform it, and emit it as a different color), but a biofluorescent reptile is completely unheard of. National Geographic Emerging Explorer, David Gruber, was diving at night in the Solomon Islands filming biofluorescent corals, when a neon yellow, red and green sea turtle suddenly swam in front of his camera 40 minutes into his dive. Talk about scientific serendipity!
